Storage of Fuel in a Stationery Environment

In Canada to Safely and Legally Store Fuel you must use a ULC approved Tank that has integral Containment – [Either a dike, or a Dual wall designed tank]

There are several ULC Codes that a Steel Fuel Tank Can be built to Including ULC S601, ULC-S643, etc.

In Addition You will usually be required to get a permit from your local jurisdiction having authority – [IE Your local Municipal Government Fire Marshall, environment ministry, etc]. They will mandate things like – Crash protection, Distances from Buildings, etc. In Addition – depending on the location [near water ways, etc] they may require and mandate spill containment around accessories like fuel pump/nozzles, remote fill lines, etc.
